No doubt, the most trending tech today is Artificial Intelligence (AI). We saw various forms of AI arts and memes, such as politicians engaging with smartphones during their regular meetings. I have made a free crash course to demystify AI beyond the buzzwords . So, how do we get ready for AI?
AI brings lots of challenges for IT professionals to keep up with ever-evolving technological changes in the fast-paced AI space. So, what strategies should we embrace to expand our knowledge and cultivate resilience in the face of such constant evolution? In this blog post, I’ll share my thoughts on how we get ready for AI :

Growth Mindset vs Fixed mindset
While I was working for Microsoft, we talked about Growth Mindset vs Fixed mindset, which is also a key thing featured in Amazon’s leadership principles. A growth mindset means believing that with effort and learning, your abilities can improve. On the other hand, a fixed mindset sees talents as fixed and unchangeable.
Fixed mindset
Individuals with a fixed mindset face various challenges hindering their growth. Embracing a fixed mindset can lead to resistance towards change, as it disrupts established beliefs and capabilities. This mentality often fosters a fear of failure, causing individuals to shy away from challenges, seeing them as threats to their inherent abilities rather than opportunities for growth. Consequently, setbacks or criticism are internalized, eroding resilience and motivation to persevere. This mindset can create a barrier to personal and professional development, encouraging a belief that success should be effortless, thereby deterring effort. Moreover, it limits the pursuit of knowledge and skills, prioritizing the appearance of competence over genuine curiosity and learning.
Growth mindset
Having a growth mindset helps me face challenges, learn from mistakes, and seek new opportunities. We have to foster this mindset by practicing self-compassion, setting achievable goals, seeking feedback, and celebrating progress and achievements.
A growth mindset, in my view, isn’t just about how we think. It’s the fusion of belief and a series of consistent actions. It requires a learning ‘blueprint’ and self-awareness to steadily enhance ourselves through systematic thinking. By engaging in ongoing learning every day, as Darren Hardy suggests in ‘The Compound Effect‘. We can achieve incredible results by doing it in the long run. AI learns from us, much like how we learn from our past experiences and insights, So we use those lessons to tackle upcoming challenges. These practices are vital for keeping ahead in the constantly changing AI industry.

Mindset: The New Psychology of Success
From the renowned psychologist who introduced the world to “growth mindset” comes this updated edition of the million-copy bestseller—featuring transformative insights into redefining success, building lifelong resilience, and supercharging self-improvement.
“Through clever research studies and engaging writing, Dweck illuminates how our beliefs about our capabilities exert tremendous influence on how we learn and which paths we take in life.”—Bill Gates, GatesNotes
“It’s not always the people who start out the smartest who end up the smartest.”
Engaging the broad community
Engaging the broad community involves connecting with individuals who share your interests, values, and ambitions, forming a supportive connection that offers emotional, social, and professional backing.
A supportive connection, just like all human connections, is forged. We are brought together based on shared interests, aligned goals, and providing value to improve each other; we become better together. To build a supportive network, participate in online communities on social networks, and attend local community meetups, conferences, workshops, and events. Platforms like YouTube and GitHub collaborations are perfect places to find and build your community by sharing your insights and collaborating on projects with like-minded individuals.

Life is a journey of learning
Life is a journey of constant learning, extending far beyond formal education. Lifelong learning means always gaining new knowledge and skills. This is also the case for getting ready for AI learning.
In AI industry, this ongoing learning keeps you updated on the latest trends, sparks creativity, and opens up more career opportunities. Engaging in lifelong learning involves reading on a daily basis, listening to podcasts, taking online courses, and joining competitions.
To stay updated on AI, follow newsletters and tech news from sources like CNET, Bloomberg, and Business Insider or some Youtube content. Making reading a daily habit supports continuous learning, crucial for success. Starting with small daily reading habits keeps you informed in the evolving AI landscape. As per my experience, starting an AI newsletter is also a great way to track your learning journey!

Know your purpose
Understanding your purpose means comprehending:
- Why do you do what you do ?
- What impact do you aim to make in the world?
It’s the driving force behind finding meaning and satisfaction in your endeavors. It offers motivation to overcome challenges while ensuring your actions resonate with your values and aspirations.
Discovering your purpose
Discovering your purpose involves introspection into your strengths, passions, and interests, identifying core values and goals, and outlining your mission, your vision, and your affirmations.
Take a moment to reflect on your daily activities by writing them down in your journal. Check if they match your long-term goals and values, and note down areas for improvement. Keep it enjoyable and meaningful, adding your affirmations to align with your heart’s content.
Make learning a long-term and rewarding process
Making learning a long-term and fulfilling journey involves taking care of yourself. To get yourself ready for any changes in the AI industry by looking after your body and mind, you pave the way for ongoing learning. Taking care of yourself reduces stress, boosts your mood and energy, and helps you learn better. Simple habits like eating well, sleeping enough, staying active, and taking breaks contribute to self-care. Also, setting limits, organizing tasks, and giving yourself time off are important.
Find joy in what you do and focus on things that make you happy. Reward yourself for your daily efforts by doing things you love. This way, learning becomes a continuous and enjoyable process tied closely to your well-being.
